What Victoria can learn from Western Australia’s weather

When it comes to water management, there’s something of potential value that Victoria could learn from Western Australia’s weather given discussions about new dams

If you have almost 60 days straight of above 30 degree days with pretty much no rain, how do you fill the dam?

Well you don’t but you’ve put all of your resources creating a dam with no way to fill it. There’s far more sensible ways for Victoria to go here – compulsory rainfall capture; all new homes to have rain supported plumbing and toilets; recapture of water across urban environments and stop forcing manufacturers having to dump water that they’ve cleaned, back down the drain rather than making it available for parks and other urban uses
