What Australia Can learn from Finland’s Education System
There’s lots to like about borrowing ideas from other areas especially where those ideas can lead to a significant positive shift. In the link below, Zaid Ali Alsagoff an educational blogging specialist highlights why the Finnish Education system stands as a potential model to embrace. And whilst there are examples of this type of thinking within Australia, to suggest it is the ‘norm’ would be a stretch.
For example, mobile phones are rarely banned in Finnish Schools, instead students quietly answer the call, leave the classroom to have their conversation and then return quickly and with care for other students and their teacher. Maybe Australian student’s are yet to reach this level of appreciation but should we give them a chance to prove it?
