Eat OR Extract? You CANNOT do Both

With Farmland across NSW, Queensland, & the Northern Territory under pressure from the mining sector, the quality of discussion as to which land use is of best outcome or most suitable seems to go astray. I’ve been flagging the ‘Eat’ OR ‘Extract’ challenge for a few years now and this radio interview is one example

 

Part of the number of chats I’ve had with the ABC Darwin’s Vicki Kerrigan, we work our way through the Northern Territory’s potential future, given the competing interests of both sectors: ‘Eat OR Extract’? It has much in common with the challenges being faced in NSW & Queensland where entities like Lock the Gate are battling to protect pastoral land from the #fracking and traditional mining industry
