Australia 2020 - one year on, now what?
Tuesday 31 March 2009
It is almost a year since the Australia 2020 Summit was held in Canberra and it is expected that Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will provide feedback on the summit, the ideas it generated as well as the ideas of those not at the summit who provided input and thinking. So the question that remains is if the future of Australia will remain the focus or if issues of today will once again be allowed to distract us from what we want to try and achieve. Now might be a useful time to revisit the thinking that emerged at the Australia 2020 Futurists Summit wherein a group of Australia's leading futurists convened in March 2008 prior to the PM's summit, to do what they do best - think about the future.
Our report was also made available to the Prime Minister - you can access it here
